I have fallen in love with Wet Wrap Sets all over again...

I decided to co-wash my hair today as I've been went to two exercise classes today and my hair was a little sweated out.

These are the steps I followed for today's wash day:

I prepooed my hair using Elasta QP DPR-11 Penetrating Conditioner and sealed with an oil mix of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Grapeseed oil, covered with a plastic cap, turban cap and towel turban and left on my hair for 1 hour.

I rinsed out the prepoo and washed my hair with Tresemme Remoisturing Conditioner, leaving on my hair for 5 minutes and finger combing it through my hair before the final rinse using cold water.

I blotted my hair with a towel for literally a few seconds before applying my leave ins;  S-Curl and Creme of Nature Argan Oil Leave in before detangling my hair.

I sectioned my hair into four and sprayed my Fantasia IC Heat Protector & Straightening Serum to each section before combing through my hair again then wrapping my hair. I covered my wrap with a mesh scarf and sat under the dryer for 50 minutes.

I really need to hurry up and purchase a new hood dryer as my temporary buy will frustrate me before long. I think my head is so small, I couldn't draw the string very tight enough to feel snug and secure and I was right. As soon as I turned on the hair dryer the hood blew off my head. I ended up tucking my towel over each ear to keep the hood attached to my head which did the trick.

After taking off my mesh wrap, I used my soft bristle brush to smooth around the wrap to encourage the hair to fall, before combing out the wrap with my wide teeth shower comb.

I had intentions to go on and Saran Wrap my hair using cling film and then going back under the dryer for 20 mins to give my hair a sleeker look, however I was pleasantly surprised by the results of my first wet wrap and am sold on this method of drying.

My hair feels and looks so soft and bouncy and I am loving it... As I was sat under the dryer I remembered that I forgot to add my Creme of Nature Wrap Foam Lotion and was a bit annoyed with myself but it turns out I had no reason to worry.

As I washed my hair in the evening, I then went on to section my hair into four before oiling my scalp with my Castor oil, then moisturised my hair with ORS Intense Moisture Crème and sealing with Avocado Oil before wrapping my hair and securing with my satin scarf.

My method of Wet Wrap Setting came from watching YouTube videos on my bed this morning. I came across a video by SueSue1919 on YouTube and after her seeing her wet wrap results, I knew I had to try it.

Thinking back, a few years back, when I used to get my hair done at a Salon in London every fortnight, the only way my ever got dried was via a wet wrap after a hot oil treatment. The Salon was taken over by new management and the girl who did my hair left so I went back to doing my own hair and stupidly didn't think to follow through and continue the hair process myself.

These are the steps I followed for today's wash day:

Oil Mix

Prepoo / Hot oil treatment using my oil mix (avocado oil; grapeseed oil; olive oil, almond oil, castor oil and coconut oil) and covered with a plastic cap and towel turban for 45 mins.

Shampooed my hair using Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture & Shine Shampoo.

Deep conditioned my hair with ORS HaiRepair Nourishing Conditioner mixed with my African Royale Hot 6 oil, and a blob of Profectiv Anti-Breakage Strengthening Deep Conditioner covered with  a plastic cap and towel turban for 60 mins then combed the conditioner through my hair before rinsing.

Applied leave in; Creme of Nature Argan Oil Strength & Shine Leave-In Conditioner and Creme of Nature Foaming Wrap Lotion

Lightly dried my hair with a towel and then sectioned my hair into six sections, three on each side left and right and tying each section with a tiny elastic band only wrapping around the hair twice. I split each ponytail into two and attached a 38mm magnetic roller to each section and securing with snap on curler covers. I kept my little water spray bottle handy as I read that you need to have your hair dripping wet when applying the rollers to ensure you don't end up with frizzy ends. I used a vintage hooded dryer that unfortunately is on it's last legs. In fact I think it would be unfair to use it again as I had to do a DIY job on it this morning just to get through today's wash day. It used to belong to my gran who then gave it to my aunt who I'm shamed to say, lent it to me about 6 years ago to do a treatment on my hair and I've had it ever since. I sat under the dryer for about an hour and 15 minutes and my hair was 95% dry, so I took out the rollers as I knew I'd have indents in my hair from the elastic bands.

I lightly combed my hair with my wide teeth shower comb and applied a few drops of Fantasia IC Olive Oil Moisturizing Shine Serum and a quick spray of Creme of Nature Oil Sheen before wrapping my hair with a Denman Brush.

I then covered my hair tightly with cling film (saran wrap) and sat back under the dryer for 25 mins to ensure my hair was fully dried.

Once dry, I gently combed out the wrap and was pleased to see soft and bouncy hair.I'm having an unplanned lazy day today so instead of having my hair down, I applied a few more drops of the IC serum and wrapped my hair back up, securing it with a satin scarf.

Time allowing, this will be my future method for wash days as I love the way my hair feels without having to use direct heat and it will definitely be a life saver and come in very handy when my new growth comes through. It is quite a time consuming process so I will need to get out of the habit of washing my hair late and make Saturday or Sunday mornings my wash days when I'm working. Luckily, I have some time off so I can wash my hair next Thursday before going back to work next Friday.

Note to self: Next time, add a few drops of serum to my hair when applying my leave in conditioner to give it a bit more shine and smoothness, other than that, I am very happy with my results.

I have been thinking about joining YouTube for a while now but have been sceptical because I hate the sound of my voice on camera. I have a few days off work this week and have been home alone giving me the peace and quiet needed to get back on my blogging game and must be feeling adventurous, because I found myself in front of the camera, recording my first YouTube Video...

It's just an introduction video, giving a brief description about when I started my hair journey and why etc. Eventually I will start making videos on tutorials showing how I do my hair e.g. wash days, moisturising and Sealing. For now I'll be posting a few videos to discuss my hair regime, staple products and will take it from there.

I sound so British and posh but don't be fooled lol!!! Check it out and let me know what you think..

I have been in the hair shop again....

I really can't afford to as I'm still suffering from the expense of my son being on 7 weeks summer holidays, our last minute holiday and my son's birthday, not forgetting new school clothes, shoes etc ready for school on Monday morning and payday is still just over 10 days away.

• Creme of Nature Argan Oil Wrap Foam Lotion - I bought this to use on my hair when I'm doing roller sets.

• After the death of my hooded dryer on Friday, I have bought a temporary replacement. I've never used one of these before but my mind is already working overtime studying if I will have to hold my hair dryer in my hand for an hour, if it is possible to lean it or something or last resort, can I make some sort of contraption that will work as a hair dryer holder...

• Profectiv Anti-Breakage & Strengthening Deep Conditioner - I already have my ORS Hair Mayonnaise and ORS Olive Oil Hair Masque as protein conditioners but for some reason I found my hand picking this up off the shelf and placing it in my basket. I will give it a try over the next month.

• ORS HAIRepair Nourishing Conditioner x 2 - I love love love this product and buy a few satchets a month for a special moisturising treat for my hair.

• Snap-On Magnetic Rollers 38mm x 3 packs - These are for my roller sets, well for now they are for my ponytail roller sets which is my cheat to a proper roller set as I'm too scared to try it as yet for fear of the results.

• Avocado Oil - One of my statement oils, I almost ran out so had to restock.

• Fantasia IC Heat Protector Straightening Serum - I have never tried this but I wanted a heat protector in the form of a spray so that when I'm doing my roller sets, I can spray some over my hair once I have installed my rollers for that extra heat protection.
