Root2Tip Quench My Curls 30 Day Challenge

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Whilst browsing on instagram last week, I came across a post by Root2Tip about their Quench my curls 30 day challenge using their 'Quench Anti-Breakage Creme'.

Root2Tip are a British brand who make natural hair care products for hair of all textures. The fact this brand is British and their products are free from; sulfates, mineral oils, petroleum, silicones, parabens and more, is just a win win situation for me. #winning

The Root2Tip website states that the Quench Anti Breakage Creme (Quench Hair Moisture Creme) will; Quench the the thirst of your dry hair NOW!! If you have naturally curly hair, this gorgeous light but rich creme, will define your curls, provide moisture and eliminate frizz. Afro/relaxed hair types will experience silky soft hair with the use of this creme, made with natural ingredients including: Red palm oil, coconut milk and Castor-bean oil, your hair will be instantly quenched, without being weighed down or greasy. Great for all hair textures and brilliant on dry-ends!

The ingredients are:
Aqua, Cocos nucifera (coconut) milk, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil, Riccinus communis (Castor)Seed oil, Elaesis guineensis (Palm) fruit oil, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea)fruit butter (Organic)Behentrimonium methosulfate (and) Cetearyl alcohol,Cetyl alcohol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, (Natural thickener)Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylol glycol and Chlorphenisin, Parfum.

I was intrigued as I have been using their Triple M Miracle Moisture Milk for the last month or so and my hair and I are in love. I emailed Root2Tip for more information and was impressed to find a response to my email bright and early the very next morning.

The challenge is simple...

Incorporate the Quench Anti-Breakage Creme into your daily / weekly hair regime for 30 days and share your findings and results as to how you use it and more importantly if you and your hair like it...

It is as simple as that...

Before coming across this challenge I had Root2Tip's website on my to do list as having tried and fallen for the Triple M Milk, I was looking forward to trying the Honey Rain Juice which combines as a daily leave in conditioner and detangler so I decided to go ahead and buy this along with the Quench Creme. I got to the website and got so excited about the challenge, I neglected to add the Honey rain Juice to my shopping cart and only remembered the next day. Sad times.

As I'm at work during the day, I missed the delivery and painfully had to wait until the weekend to head over to my local Royal Mail depot but it was worth the wait.

I didn't know what to expect or how I was going to incorporate this Creme into my regime over the next 30 days but when I opened the creme I was pleasantly surprised to find it to have a thick butter like consistency and decided to use this to seal my hair after moisturising by hair with the Root2Tip Triple M Milk throughout the challenge.

I got this on Saturday and resisted temptation to try it out straight away as I intended on washing my hair the next day before going out in the afternoon. Sunday came and as I assessed my hair I came to the decision that my hair could last another day or two. I spritzed my hair with water, moisturised with Triple M Milk and then sealed with the Quench Creme before styling my hair with a quick twist at the front and left the rest down.

Monday came and with working late and family life, washing my hair took the back seat again. Usually if I skip my weekend wash day I'd be running home to wash it after work on Monday but I let it pass because my hair was not weighed down with products and was soft and a pleasure to work with. That night I went to moisturise and seal and realised I didn't need to so instead oiled my scalp, did a quick loose bun and secured with my satin scarf.

This morning my hair was still moist but if I don't moisturise and seal at night then it's routine to then do this before I go in the shower in the morning. I spritzed my hair with water then moisturised and sealed before putting it up into a loose high bun secured with a satin scrunchie. I tied my satin scarf around my edges to keep them laid and left my bun out to steam whilst I was in the shower; my hair loves this.

Again my hair was a joy to work with, I wanted to get into work early so just rocked my go to twist and bun protective style and was through the door.

I am currently air-drying whilst I type this post so I am looking forward to seeing how the Quench Anti-Breakage Creme will feel on my clean hair. I will try to take pictures throughout the week and will be back with an update next week with how my first 7 days have been using this product.

Stay tuned and if you are interested in joining the challenge, get involved...
